Hello, I'm a botanist from Malta and wished to share an important paper about Romulea, because every now and then, in Italian literature and fora I see the taxon Romulea melitensis Beg. which was originally described by Beguinot, but from a revision on the genus in Malta & Sicily, this taxon is nomen ambiguum (according ICN) where there are two descriptions on two different types collected on different dates and locations. This problem was resolved by a new taxon - Romulea variicolor whereas R. melitensis, based on the original description and holotype; which I examined and corresponds with the description i.e having narrow tepals and yellow throat , is still an unknown plant but I think I have found it and will report it shortly in a coming paper next year.
The revision paper linked below is the result of my research:

I hope you find this useful.

It's really a great job that can be very useful for studying the Romuleae of Sardinia.

Thank you for your compliments - How can I contact the editor of Flora d'italia so as this species is included (at least in the digital version and addenda) given that it also exists in southeast Sicily?
Many thanks
Stephen
